Malcolm Havard is a Sheffield native with eclectic career that has taken him from archaeology, through construction, academia, to consultancy work, but has always had a love of history and the stories with it. His writing career started in non-fiction and, after a series of successful books, he thought he’d give fiction a try, asking himself ‘How hard could it be?’ Fifteen years later he now suspects the answer is ‘Very, very hard’. He lives in Cheshire with his partner Nicola and a grumpy cat.
