Jan Kaneen

Jan Kaneen is an award winning author from Bolton, Lancashire who now lives below sea level in the flat washes of the Cambridgeshire Fens worrying about climate change and the cost of living crisis. She started writing in 2015 as a sort of mindfulness therapy and now holds an MA in Creative Writing (with distinction) from the Open University. She writes dark and unsettling short stories and flash fictions that have won prizes in places like The  National Flash Fiction Day Comp, Bath Flash, InkTears and Flash 500. Most recently she won the 2023 Bath Novella-in-Flash prize with her story A Learning Curve, available now from Ad Hoc Fiction A Learning Curve : Jan Kaneen | Ad Hoc Fiction

 

She is excited to be working with Northodox Press who will publish her short and tiny story collection, Hostile Environments, in 2025.
