Jane Dougherty was brought up in an Irish Catholic community in the West Riding’s Heavy
Woollen District, a heady combination which explains her lasting fascination with Gaelic and Norse cultures. Her first job, with a London wine merchant, sent her on a mission to Paris, and she refused to go back. She lives in the quiet of the rural southwest now, writing fictionwhere history merges with myth and fantasy.
