AD 171 Banna Fort, Hadrian's Wall 
Following the deaths of several of his men while fighting insurgents to the north, Centurion Aurelius Petrus returns to Banna fort to learn that children are being murdered. Some locals believe these children have been touched by the Gods and hold a great power. 
Tasked with finding the killers, and fearful for the safety of his own son, every lead Petrus finds turns out to be a dead end. When witnesses aren’t able to provide much information, and some locals seem unwilling to divulge everything they know, will Petrus have to go against his own morals and use torture or worse to untangle the mystery? With tensions rising between local tribes at the handling of the situation, and some starting to take matters into their own hands, he finds himself facing a difficult choice.
