On the cusp of a tremendous career breakthrough which promises to launch her on the national gallery circuit, Sia’s life is finally on track. Since she ended her fraught and destructive relationship with her mother, Heather, it’s blissfully normal. After two years of peace, she thinks her troubles are over.

But once again, Heather jeopardises Sia’s equilibrium when she issues a summons through an unexpected intermediary. It’s a demand Sia cannot refuse, despite the familiar, profound dread she feels as she considers facing her estranged mother. When the meeting takes place, her mother astounds her by claiming she is being haunted by a vindictive ghost - one which has spent forty years building its fury into something truly terrifying and who is now determined to exact its revenge.
